Lake Water Quality Engineering
Water Quality Engineering Services were provided for a 31-acre reservoir experiencing sedimentation, algae blooms, water quality degradation, nuisance aquatic plants, shoreline erosion, and other impacts. Funding was obtained and Engineering Design provided to significant reduce pollutant loading from a major tributary inlet channel. A Water Quality Engineering Report was prepared describing 18 years of water quality monitoring data. Action Strategies were prepared to enhance the 31-acre reservoir. Recommendations included environmentally sound methods to control nuisance weeds and algae, improve water quality for safe swimming, reduce sedimentation, establish a desirable fish community, and allow for more diverse wildlife habitat. A Watershed Summit was organized for multiple agency participation for lake improvement.
