Living Waters Consultants provided Comprehensive Biological and Habitat Surveys in several locations for a 37-square mile stream watershed.  Biological monitoring included fish surveys (fish Index of Biotic Integrity calculations), aquatic macroinvertebrate surveys (Macroinvertebrate Index of Biotic Integrity calculations), habitat (Qualitative Habitat Evaluation Index), and bank erosion (Bank Erosion Hazard Index).  Scientific methods were utilized for project protocol inlcuding compliance with Illinois EPA QAPP measures for biological surveys, species identification, reporting, and data analysis.  An evaluation of existing stream health was provided in a Narrative Report.  Causes for impairment to stream quality and ecological diversity were described.  Recommendations to restore stream health were provided.  Results were used to support an EPA-approved Watershed-Based Plan prepared by a county agency.
