Dead Dog Creek - Bluff and Ravine System
Engineering Services included Fluvial Geomorphic Evaluations, Comprehensive Stream Survey (total station and GPS), Wetland Assessment, Natural Stream Channel Design, Sediment Transport Monitoring, and Engineering Plans were provided for 6,750 linear feet of stream channel for Lake County Stormwater Management Commission at Dead Dog Creek. Several severely eroding bluffs and streambanks were surveyed, evaluated, and described in the Stream Restoration Plan. Design included protection and preservation of wetland seeps and ADID wetland areas. Recommended stream stabilization techniques included rock riffle grade control structures rock toe, tree rootball revetments, geogrid terracing, re-graded slopes, coir logs, and replacement of invasive riparian vegetation with native species in the riparian corridor. Funding of over $650,000 has been approved for project construction.
