Living Waters Consultants (formerly Ted Gray & Associates) was contracted to serve as Stormwater Project Co- Manager with Cemcon, Ltd. for the $20M Benedictine University Stormwater Campus Expansion. LWC utilized environmentally sound and innovative stormwater management techniques. LWC provided planning, site engineering co-design, and stormwater modeling services to acquire permit approval for the 40-acre, campus expansion. Five permit approvals were acquired from seven agencies. Proposed use of stormwater eco-engineering design reduced stormwater infrastructure costs by up to 50% compared with traditional pipe-and-gutter practices, and improved water quality. Stormwater management techniques included swale design for maximum water quality benefits, native plant bioswales, design for underground parking lot stormwater storage, native landscaping, rock checks, and other measures.
