Water Resources Engineer

Christian A. Smith, PE, M.S.

Mr. Smith provides Water Resources Engineering Services for Living Waters Consultants. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Smith has extensive water resources engineering and project management experience for floodplain, stream restoration, and stormwater engineering projects. He provides creative, cost-effective and practical problem solving for engineering design, permitting, and implementation. His hydrologic and hydraulic modeling expertise includes both steady and unsteady analyses using FEQ, WSP2, HEC-RAS, and WSPRO. Hydrologic modeling tools have included TR-20, HEC-1, and HEC-HMS. He has provided management for stream restoration projects, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, flood risk studies, dam breach analyses, floodplain / floodway modifications, stormwater master planning, drainage studies, and watershed planning projects. He regularly instructs college-level Civil Engineering Exam preparation courses. He has published in conference proceedings pertaining to floodplain, floodway, and/or stormwater management.

Water Resources Engineer

Greg Boehm, PE

Mr. Boehm provides Water Resources Engineering Services for Living Waters Consultants. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Marquette University. Greg Boehm served as a water resources engineer for two years with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources / Office of Water Resources, and for five years with the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission. Mr. Boehm has reviewed floodplain and floodway determinations and/or provided stormwater management for more than 300 projects as a state employee, and more than 1,500 projects for Lake County, Illinois. He has prepared existing and proposed conditions modeling analyses for over 200 floodplain, floodway and stormwater projects. He is proficient in public domain water resources modeling software including HEC-RAS, HEC-2, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, TR-20 AND WSP-2.
