Ted R. Gray, P.E., CFM, CPESC, M.S.
Eco-Hydrologist & Director
Ted Gray has served as Eco-Hydrologist and Director of LWC since 1996. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Hydrology and Hydraulics, a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and holds a Masters in Aquatic Ecology (fish ecology and water quality) from the University of Michigan. He has a Bachelors in Biology from Ripon College. His skills in Eco-Hydrology and Fluvial Geomorphology have been applied to over 8 stream miles of natural channel design, 4 miles of large-scale stream re-meandering projects, and over 12 miles of stream inventory / preliminary design. Awards have been received from APWA, U.S. EPA, Chicago Wilderness, ASLA, ACEC, and others. Ted has instructed at Stream Restoration Workshops for local colleges and universities, SWCD, County agencies, and others. Prior to founding LWC in 1996, Ted worked for Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and later for a design engineering firm.
